Kelly R. Summers is an Accredited Genealogist. She received her B.A. in Family and Community History from BYU. She also received her A.A. from BYU in Professional Genealogy. Kelly currently teaches Beginning Family History & Genealogy, part-time at BYU. Kelly has been involved in genealogical research and teaching for more than 25 years. Her specialty is U.S. research with expertise in U.S. Midwestern. Kelly is also experienced in Scandinavian, Latin American and Southwestern European research, emphasizing Spain. Kelly researches professionally for clients.
Kelly currently serves as a Commissioner for the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen). She is also the Conference Chair for the Annual ICAPGen Conference. Kelly has taught several years at the BYU Family History & Genealogy Conference held every August. She has also made presentations at the annual Utah Genealogical Association (UGA) Conference, the Association of Professioal Genealogists (APG) Utah county chapter meeting and the Utah county chapter UGA. In addition, Kelly volunteers regularly at the BYU Family History Center, teaching classes on Sundays.
